What will PowerSchool’s Parent Portal allow me to see from home?
As a PowerSchool parent, you can check to see whether or not your child is in class right now, and view your child's final grades as they exist in the teacher's gradebook at this very moment. You can also register to receive email notifications and review the daily comments from teachers.
How do I get started with PowerSchool’s Parent Portal?
We strongly recommend that you begin by printing and reading the “Parent Portal User’s Guide” which is available as a download below. Once you are familiar with how the system works, beginning October 3rd, you can stop by your child’s school and request the Student Access Code and Access Password from the PowerSchool Manager. If you have children in multiple schools you will get a unique Access ID and Access Password from each school. This unique access information will link your parent account with each of your children’s information. Please be prepared to present a photo ID to verify your identity.

Now that I have my child’s access code information, how do I log in?
You can click on the PowerSchool Parent Portal image above, or go directly to http://pschool.hampton1.k12.sc.us. Your first visit will require you to create your parent account. You will be asked to select your own user name and password and enter your child’s access ID and access password at that time. If you have not received this information yet, you can add your children at a later date. You will be able to begin viewing your child's grades and attendance on the 18th of October (the first day of the 2nd quarter).
I don’t understand the grades that have been entered and I have questions. Who do I contact?
You must contact your child’s teacher directly if you have question regarding a grade or a teacher comment that was entered into the PowerSchool system. You can find teachers contact information in the school’s website or within the Parent Portal where the teacher’s name is in blue letters.
What if I want others to have access to my child’s grades (Grandparents, Aunt/Uncle)?
If you want others to have access to your child’s grades and attendance via PowerSchool’s Parent Portal, you will need to provide them with the login & password that you created when you set up your parent account. It will be the responsibility of each parent/guardian to distribute (or not distribute) this login information as they see fit.
What if I lose or forget my password?
If your password is lost or forgotten, you can click on the “Having trouble logging in” link at the log in screen. With the correct username and email address, the system will send you an email with password reset instructions. If you have any other issue logging in, please get in touch with the appropriate PowerSchool Manager (as listed above).
