Brunson Elementary School

I want to welcome all our parents and students this year. I am excited to be the new principal at Brunson Elementary. We have a lot planned for this school year. The students will be in play productions like, "The Snow Queen", "Hansel and Gretel", and "The Wizard of Oz". Fifth and sixth graders have a chance to be in the Steel Drum Band. Our chorus and art program will be another opportunity for your child to shine. Brunson Elementary will not only continue to be an Arts in Basic Curriculum school, but is also a TAP school site. In the Teacher and Student Advancement Program, student achievement and teacher effectiveness will be monitored closely. Teachers and students will be working hard in their classes all year. Please feel free to come by the main office and visit anytime.

As you can see, with everything going on, it is great to be a Brunson Warrior!

I have been in public education for over twenty-seven years as a teacher and administrator. I have worked at the elementary and secondary level. I received my undergraduate degree from Ball State University in Elementary Education, with a Masters in Elementary Education from South Carolina State, as well as a graduate degree from the University of South Carolina in Educational Administration. I am married to Shellie Ackerman, a Pre-K teacher at Varnville Elementary and have a daughter, Ashleigh, a nursing student at USC-Aiken and a son, Johnathan, a senior at USC in Columbia.
