After graduating from South Carolina State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, I began working in Hampton School District One. I worked in this district for 4 years and during that time, I graduated from University of South Carolina with a Master of Communication Disorders in 2003. In 2004, I married Brent Terry and moved to Charleston. Before coming back to Hampton One in 2007, I worked in Dorchester Two in Summerville SC and in Edgecomb County in North Carolina. I came back to Hampton One married and with my first child, Morgan Delensy Terry, who was born October 2006. She has been a wonderful blessing who has wrapped her grandparents around all fingers. Working throughout our district, I have met wonderful people and recently became the Lead Speech Therapist in Hampton One. In March 2011, God blessed me with a beautiful baby boy named Cooper Edmond Terry. Having two children has been wonderful, but Brent and I have no idea what we did with our time before these active, sweet children came into our lives. Maybe we slept alot more.! :-)

Nina McKenzie, Speech Therapist
The FIRST proudest moment of my life: Walking across the stage in May 2011 at South Carolina State University to receive my diploma of a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Speech Language Pathology. My SECOND proudest moment: Getting my acceptance letter to SCSU’s graduate program for Speech Language Pathology. But besides going to school and working with children, I have many other things in life that I enjoy. I found a few years ago that I love to read and collect books. My goal is to collect every book I read, and build my own library. I love to run for recreation and for competition. On the weekends and during the summer months I spend most my time by the pool or at the beach. During those cold winter months, I enjoy sitting in front of the fire with a cup of hot coffee while I cross-stitch, knit, or embroider (yes I do it all). Cooking is something that comes easy with my family and it’s definitely a passion of mine, because I LOVE FOOD. I enjoy making others laugh, as well as serving others, and I often teach Children’s Church at the Lighthouse Church. My family and friends are number one in my life, but I am always open to meeting new people!!
