HD1 began the new year on Wednesday, August 10th with a district wide program at Wade Hampton High School.  Deputy Superintendent Toreacher Dobson opened the program.  District Teacher of the Year Michelle Altman welcomed the staff and assisted Superintendent Dr. Doug McTeer and Board Chairman Libby Murdaugh in recognizing the Support Staff of the Year and the Teachers of the Year from each school.  Mrs. Altman also announced the 2012 - 2013 District Teacher of the Year Clarissa Geddis of Ben Hazel.  HD1 faculty and staff are looking forward to the 2011 - 2012 school year.
