Six Hampton District One Schools were awarded Gold or Silver Awards for General Performance or Closing the Achievement Gap
The South Carolina Department of Education announced today the recipients of the Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards for the 2011-2012 school year using criteria established by the Education Oversight Committee. Five district schools received silver awards and Varnville Elementary received a gold award. Schools can receive awards for general performance or for closing the achievement gap. Five district schools received an award for general performance and Wade Hampton received an award for closing the achievement gap.
